It is the holidays and as everyone gathers around the table to spend some quality time together, I wanted to give you all something extra special for your loved ones.
This recipe is visually really impressive for guests but is relatively simple to make. We use Crescent dough (or croissant pastry dough) to create an 8-point star, stuff it with Ricks Good Eat’s signature Tandoori Bacon, Punjabi scrambled eggs, cherry tomatoes, and a nice aged cheddar.
T’is the season for making memories, and I hope this recipe will be a part of yours and your families.

6 Whole Eggs
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 Cup Red Onion, minced
1/4 Jalapeño, minced
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 tablespoon red chilli powder
1/2 tablespoon garam masala
1 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 roll Pillsbury Crescent dough, refrigerated until right before use
10 cherry tomatoes
coriander, chopped for garnish
8 slices bacon
1 cup shredded aged cheddar
Preheat oven to 375.
Sprinkle tandoori powder onto each side of the bacon slice and cook in frypan until done but not crispy. Set aside.
Add all spices, onion, and jalapeño to eggs. Give a good whisk until all ingredients blended well.
In a medium frypan, soften garlic in a little bit of olive oil on medium high heat. Once slightly caramelized, add egg mixture to pan and turn down heat to medium. Keep eggs moving slowly in frypan until 75% cooked. Refrigerate to cool down.
Take out dough from fridge and separate into triangles. On a parchment lined tray, lay out triangles into an 8-point star with corners overlapping. Be sure to work quickly and not over handle the dough to prevent it from heating up and going gooey. It will get really hard to work with if it gets to room temp.
Lay a slice of tandoori bacon on each point of the “star”. Spoon scrambled eggs onto overlapped parts of the star to create the wreath shape, like a ring. Cut cherry tomatoes in half and arrange all around the ring, like ornaments! Sprinkle 80 % of the cheese all around the ring and garnish with fresh chopped coriander.
Very carefully bring the outer corners of the triangle into the centre of the wreath ring and tuck underneath the inner part of the circle. Go all the way around until all 8-points of the star are tucked in and complete the wreath. Sprinkle the top of the wreath with the remaining cheese.
Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes. Let rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with a little more cilantro and enjoy!
