Water is not drank during the confinement period as it is regarded as cooling and may result in abdominal wind. However drinking red dates and longan daily can be too sweet for some mothers.
The Brown Rice Tea with Wolf Berries (can substitute with shredded Ginger if you don’t want it to be sweet at all) can solve this issue for new mothers who dislike extreme taste in sweet.
Brown rice powder provides vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin B complex and iron which helps to reduce fatigue, improve mental alertness and speed wound recovery. Chinese wolfberry help to improve eyesight and strengthens the immunity system.
It also nourishes the liver and kidney, delays aging and improves blood circulation. It is helpful for people who suffer from blurred vision, dizziness and weakness in the legs.
Why is a confinement period important?
Giving birth to a child causes alot of stress to a woman’s body. Excessive bleeding, sweating, body pains are some of the common problems. The confinement period has the objective of strengthening the mother’s body to its original health or even better, as well as to restore the uterus back to the original size.
